Pre-Cana Days

After you walk down the aisle, cut the cake and return from your honeymoon, the wedding is over and the marriage begins.  Maintaining a sacramental union is hard work that goes beyond a 9 to 5 commitment.  It must be your first priority for the rest of your life.  Are you ready to meet the challenge? Pre-Cana Days are for couples anticipating the Sacrament of Marriage.  The day will include prayer, presentations, quiet reflection time and a closing prayer service.  Liturgy of the Word and Communion Service will be offered. The day will conclude with an elegant dinner. Refreshments will be available during the scheduled break periods. Please join us for the next Pre-Cana Day.

About Our Presenters...

Paul and Kathy Weber are have been members of St. Paul Parish in North Canton.  They are both secular Discalced Carmelites and work with isolated Carmelites in Ohio and surrounding states.  Both are certified Spiritual Directors and have been active with Cursillo.  On February 22, Paul and Kathy celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary.  They have five children, Mindi, Jason, Jared, Michelle, and Rachel, who are in their twenties. 

Paul is a graduate of Brunnerdale Seminary High School, St. Joseph’s College, and Kent State University where he earned his Masters Degree.  He has chaired the  Parish Council and on the RCIA Team at Our Lady of Peace Church in Canton.  He was on the Liturgy Committee which planned the new church renovation at St. Paul’s Parish in North Canton.    

Kathy graduated from Walsh University, where she has taught theology classes. She was formerly a Social Worker at Timken Mercy Hospital in Canton.  She earned her Masters Degree in Religious Education from Loyola University, and her Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling from Graduate Theological Foundation.  For sixteen years, she was the Director of Religious Education and Youth Ministry, first at St. Anthony Church in Canton, and then at St. Paul Church in North Canton.  As a writer, she has written freelance articles for The Catholic Exponent, the Youngstown Diocesan newspaper, and other publications.  She will soon have her first novel published, A Twist of the Heart, with a second book to follow.   

Paul and Kathy are certified to teach Natural Family Planning, are active with Pro-Life activities, and they facilitate a Bible Study for Adult couples.  They are both available as Spiritual Directors.
